I have not been nearly as productive as I have hoped these last few days off. I spent one day relaxing, one day running around with my mom, and I’m on my second day of sewing. I have a bunch of sewing I’d like to do for myself (like another pair of pants), but this is so much more fun.
I picked up a couple yards of this yummy black and pink polka dot satin. I tweaked around my bra pattern to be a three piece cup, as opposed to a two piece and it turned out really well! You can’t really tell from the picture, but the top of the bra cup is made of lace.
I also worked on this set (which is my favourite) of nude lace over black jersey. The bra is sooooo comfy and is going to become a part of my personal collection, but will be making more for sale. I slightly ruched the lace and topped it off with dusty rose ribbons.

November 16, 2010 at 6:34 pmThese are gorgeous! Good for you. I've been trying to make a bra that fits for months (I have large breasts so architecture is a necessity!). These are lovely confections for small busted women. You should do an Etsy store too…

November 16, 2010 at 6:38 pmKwik Sew has some great bra patterns with underwire. I think you could easily line them and put a thin pre-formed cup (I have seen these at my local fabric shop) between the layers.
I am petite but curvy and finding a bra was always a challenge.
Thank you for your lovely comments 🙂

November 16, 2010 at 7:31 pmHello Sarah, I LOVE these two sets! I've only been sewing pants from a 70's pattern too but couldn't find one for bras. Anyway the pants I've made are nowhere as cute as yours 🙂 I'm going to check your etsy store, these are really too good!

November 16, 2010 at 8:19 pmI am in awe!! You really have a great eye for color and fabric combinations, and the craftsmanship looks impeccable!
Have been contemplating trying my hand at sewing my own lingerie, but have not managed to get over my shear terror at the idea yet 😉 I've made a mess of the elastic on both pairs of tap pants I've attempted, and am having trouble moving past that debacle.
Where do you find your wonderful fabrics?

November 16, 2010 at 8:51 pm@moxie Tonic. Thanks! the secret is patience 🙂 and lots of it! Most of these fabrics just come from my local Fabricland; they have a great selection and carry good quality ends… I go probably twice a week and buy all the good stuff lol
